The LARGEST ever recorded girls only camp in NSW!!! A weekend I will never forget.
A year to the day that our first 'girls only' camp was help with a number of 20, to then a year later and we've grown to 65. Girls traveled from Tamworth, Wagga, Dubbo, Central Coast and Sydney... quite literally majority of all areas of NSW covered.
Round midday, we gathered around with our chairs and all said a little bit about ourselves. By night time, we couldn't stop laughing and talking.
“Lake Oberon is a popular destination for those keen on all things camping, fishing & swimming. This pretty spot is situated around 3.5 kilometres from the centre of Oberon, sites are well spaced for privacy and dogs are welcome on lead. The lake itself offers opportunities for boating, swimming, and picnicking. It's a peaceful and serene place to connect with nature and enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life”.
This camping spot was perfect for our big group. We were lucky enough to have one of the biggest campgrounds to fit everyone in, as well have access to amenities close by. The boat ramp was only a short walk away and was a beautiful spot for photos and to have a chat. I think the dogs enjoyed their time as much as we did too. 65 girls in one place surrounded by dogs = all the scratches and head pats they could ever want!
We were lucky enough to have the most beautiful sunset to kick off our night time talk, and what an experience that was. Each conversation held at a Saving True Blues camp is different. This one most definitely touched every single heart who sat around the fire. As always, I started, then offered the space for anyone to say a few words of their own. One by one the girls stood up and had their say. Not a dry eye in the crowd that night. So unbelievably proud of all the girls that came away, it was truely a camp like never before.
